A Potty Training Tale

Once upon a time there was a momma who was scared to death to potty train her three year old son. There were many reasons to be scared: he's a boy, thoughts that his speech delay might hurt potty training, he's stubborn.  But momma decided to heck with it since they had no where to go for almost a week.  So they headed to Target to get some cool undies.  Diego and Thomas were a tie so they got both. The next morning momma and son decided to make a chart to put his awesome stickers!  The first day started off with the little potty and very many accidents.  Day two not so many accidents happened with lots of stickers on the chart!  Day three (Saturday) it was getting better and momma was starting to get optimistic.  Until daddy took over while momma took a nap.  Within an hour, the son had 5 accidents! By this time momma found a new way to have the son sit.  Backwards on the big potty and telling son to PUSH!  Since then and when momma is in charge, very little accidents.  Sunday is excluded because momma wasn't feeling good and son had a bad case of the poops.  And as much as momma wanted to clean that out of undies, she really didn't.  As Monday morning came along, the son was excited to go potty and would actually go by himself.  No accidents so far today.  So they will keep it going til Thursday.  Thanksgiving dinner will be the first time they adventure out of the house with NO diapers on but plenty of changes of clothes and undies.  Wish them luck! ;)

Well that is a fun tale!! Isn't it funny how he had more accidents when Daddy takes over...I remember both of my girls doing that! I'll have to have to coach me when Rex is ready to train...I've done two girls and I think I've gotten pretty lucky with easy trainees...I'm scared to death to train a BOY!!
