We have an awesome baby! We couldn't be any luckier and more blessed.
Creighton is doing so well and I'm super happy. Some time in the future I'll write the birth story and my happenings. This is going to be a non-picture post.. But I will post pictures soon..
Here are Creighton's recent happenings..
Our last few nights have been awesome. There's no other words to describe it. The first two nights home he slept in 4 hour blocks - nursed and then went back to sleep for another 4 hours. Last night though *crossing fingers and knocking on wood* he slept for 6 hours straight and woke up to a Mommy really needing to nurse and him being quite hungry.
Creighton had a hard first couple days of life. In the first hour of life, they were worried about his respiratory and his temp being too low. That was checked out and he was brought back to me. Then they were worried about his blood sugar being low since he was "so big." And because he wasn't eating as much as he should (we were supplementing with formula) he was getting his tiny heels pricked every half hour!!! It was THE saddest thing. Finally they got him to eat a lot in the nursery and his numbers evened out and stayed that way when they checked every 6 hours. Next his jaundice number was in the "high risk" of getting jaundice range. So then just to be safe we have Creighton lay on the bili light bed for a whole day. The next day his number didn't change but on the "risk range" he was only moderately at risk. So Creighton was put on the bed again with spot lights all day long! Which sucked because yes I was having Creighton withdraws! I love holding this little man. The day we got discharged we found out we were leaving about 30 minutes (if that) before we left. That day they checked his numbers again and he was at the same number but by that day it was low risk at getting jaundice. What's next? Boy oh boy..
But he's healthy, happy and a very hungry boy! :) Speaking of eating, he latched on with the first try. And I have had a very little amount of pain - no bleeding or cracking. Which is quite exciting.
Creighton has the most explosive SOUNDING poops. He has lots of gas and every time he poos it sounds like he's going to have a blow out but there's hardly anything. And if we wait about 5 min he'll do it again. We've learned to wait it out a few minutes so we don't have to change 2-3 diapers in a 15 min period.
My son must have a long torso or something because he's almost too long for newborn onesies and he's a week old. My wonderful sister sent me a box with some ADORABLE newborn clothes (and other sizes) and I have to make sure he wears them the next few days because he might not be able to wear them next week! ;)
Creighton is the ultimate momma's boy. He loves me! ;) He'll be with other people but not for too long. He'll start crying and as soon as he gets into my arms, the crying immediately stops. I love it! But I feel bad for Grandma and Daddy..
Hopefully he'll be ready to eat soon.. :)

Yay! I can't wait to see pictures. Glad things are going well now...hospital stays are no fun, but I'm glad nothing serious was wrong with him!
I'm so glad everything has gone well...I'm just glad you didn't have to go back in for jaundice, we had to do that with Kayley and it wasn't fun! His pics on your post before this one are so cute too by the way!
