He's Here! He's Here!!!! He's HERE!!!!!!!!

Yay!! My little man is here and I couldn't be happier!

Here's how the day went..

We woke up at six am (well I woke up at 4:45 and couldn't get back to sleep..) and we called Labor and Delivery. We were told to be there between 6:45 and 7. So we were there around 7 and were told to wait in the waiting room. Adam got a little queasy so he went and found some water for himself. :) Then we were led to our room and I got changed into my gown.. Lovely things really.. :) Then we waited for my nurse to come to set up all the wonderful stuff like the IV, baby monitor and what not.. Dr. Carlton (my doctor) came in to check on me and to check the dilation.. Still was at the same dilation as my last appointment.. They started the pitocin after that.. After a while the contractions started getting stronger and stronger.. and I thought I could be tough and go a little further without the epidural.. but I couldn't take it anymore. The pain was so uncomfortable. So they got the guy to give me the epidural and I was in heaven after that. Until they told me that his heartbeat wasn't going up fast enough after each contraction. So they took me off the pitocin to see if that would help, but it didn't. The nurse was wonderful and I am very grateful she was watching so closely! After she had Dr. Carlton check the machine that was monitoring Cayden's heartbeat they decided that we needed to do an emergency C-section. And here's the point when I freaked out and cried and cried and cried. I did NOT want to be cut open and I did NOT want to have to deal with that extra pain! But the nurse gave me a really good thing to think about.. In twenty years, that pain won't matter.. what will matter is that Cayden is healthy and strong! So for Cayden's sake I was a little more calm but still freaking out! (Ask Adam..) Mom asked me if I wanted a blessing and of course I said yes. Adam called his dad who was so wonderful to leave work and come help Adam give me a blessing! After the blessing I felt more calm.. Still nervous but had the feeling that everything was going to be alright and Cayden was coming soon! So they prepped me in my room, gave me a stronger epidural and wheeled me out. Adam got to come in after they had prepped me some more.. He looked so cute in his outfit :) Then they started the surgery.

Cayden was born at 3:32 PM. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. and was 20.5 inches long! I only got to see him for a minute when he was first out and then a minute after being cleaned off. Adam and Cayden left to get his first bath up in the nursery while I was being put back together. It was a weird feeling knowing that stuff was happening but I couldn't feel it! Well the pain part, I felt the tugging! It was weird not being able to feel my legs and when they moved me from bed to bed.. Strange! So after I was all done I got switched to my hospital bed (more comfy than the delivery bed..) and got wheeled back to my delivery room to recover for an hour. There I was alone with Adam's dad who was confused by where everyone (my mom and Adam's mom) was (Still in the nursery watching Adam give Cayden his first bath). They all came back to see me and after waiting for what seemed like forever I got to go up to my hospital room and I still had to wait more to see and HOLD my little boy! He had to be under the heat lamp for an hour after his bath.

When he finally was wheeled into my room I was so happy and ecstatic to hold my little boy! I remember holding him for the first time and just being in awe that he was so gorgeous (minus the cone head from being stuck in mommy.. hehe)..
But I am so happy he's here.. We've gotten the nursing done.. Just still takes a while to get latched on but when he does.. man he's a good eater!! Just like his daddy!! Everythings great and we're doing good.. My pain hasn't been as bad as I thought it was.. I don't take my pain medicine unless REALLY needed and I have a TON left! So I think its going good!
So this has taken 3 different sessions of typing (when Cayden's been sleeping..) and finally I'm done! Enjoy the pictures! :)
